If you wish to honour or memorialize someone with a contribution to The Rotary Foundation, the best way is to use rotary.org/donate and choose "I would like to make this donation in honour or memory of someone."
The donor contributing will receive gift credit and a tax receipt (where applicable). The person they wish to honour, or the person's family in the case of a memorial, will be notified of the gift.
Note: For tax and legal reasons, be sure to list your name as the donor when sending funds to the Foundation and not the name of the person you wish to honour. Consider giving Foundation Recognition Points to someone as an alternative if you want to keep them with recognition.
The process is simple, and honourees and family members can be notified by email or print-at-home notification.

Did you make a donation to PolioPlus when you received your COVID vaccination? It's not too late.
Thursday the 11th, our Canadian Rotarians will commemorate Remembrance Day, a day to honour the sacrifices and service of the brave men and women who fought on our collective behalf. Here is a beautiful recitation by Leonard Cohen of the poem "In Flanders Fields" written by John McCrae, a doctor and teacher who served in the first World War.
Are you interested in attending District Conference this year? It will be an in-person event held in Ottawa on May 6 & 7 and one promised to be unlike any conference you've seen before! Click here for more information and click here to register.
This year's AGM will take place on December 7th, the first Tuesday of the month at 4 pm.
Remember - the next person you meet could make a great Rotarian!

Please welcome Jake Maarse, a returning Rotarian to our club from the Ottawa area. Jake officially became a member of our club on Saturday, but has been a Rotarian since 2009. I hope that he will be able to join us on Tuesday.
I made an error last week about this month's Coffee with a Rotarian. It is dedicated to Brian Foster, who passed away in October in Alberta. He started the first list for us. I came across his Meet the Member article and thought you might be interested in reading it.
