The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives close to home and worldwide.
Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.
With your help, we can improve lives in your community and worldwide.
The mission
The Rotary Foundation helps members advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.
What impact can one donation have?
For as little as 60 cents, a child can be protected from polio.
$50 can provide clean water to help fight waterborne illnesses.
$500 can launch an anti-bullying campaign and create a safe environment for children.
June is Rotary Fellowships month and July is New Leadership month...
... which means, this is my last bulletin message to the Passport Club! Next Sunday will be the first in the month of July and the first of the new Rotary year. My term as President is coming to an end (cue customary joke about not being dragged off the golf course in my newfound freedom?) and our wonderful Margaret Shibley and her board of directors are coming into their roles full of vision and enthusiasm!
For those of you in and around Canada's capital, the opportunity to meet with incoming President Jennifer Jones and her Rotary entourage is fast approaching. Click here to read about her upcoming trip to District 7040. If there are any baseball players among us, do take notice that there is an opportunity to play!
Among the other exciting Rotary things happening in our orbit - our club is welcoming new members whom you will hear from directly very soon and our district is welcoming and sending out Rotary Youth Exchange students!
See you on Tuesday,
Maddie
President Elect
I admit, I had no idea what I was agreeing to when Jacinthe asked me if I would be President Nominee in 2020. It has been an extraordinary learning experience and I am grateful for the tolerance, experience, and wisdom you have shared.
I've just been reading the things I wrote for the Bulletin since 1 August 2021. That was when we first spoke about and then began to implement our Social Meetings. Apart from getting to know each other better, we've a better understanding of how set up those informal opportunities for conversation. As experiments go, it was definitely valuable. The 2022/23 Board will be discussing how to take what we've learned and establish systems that meet our needs for fellowship, service, communication, and administration, all in ways that continue to Make Rotary fit your life. It should be an interesting discussion.

Secretary's Thoughts
We changeover to a new President and Board on Tuesday. Please attend to help thank them for their service and to greet our incoming members.
As always, we open online for fellowship and entry 30 minutes prior to scheduled start. It's a great opportunity to meet and interact with fellow members.
Check out District Events (in the left column) to find out about the District Foundation dinner and Changeover with RI President Elect Jennifer Jones on June 30, and also the softball game and BBQ on July 1.
We are history in the making to have the first female RI President here in our district to celebrate with us.
