The Rotary Canada Magazine
By Jacinthe Paillé, President-Elect
Four months a year, more specifically in January, April, July, and October, Rotary publishes a slim magazine with Rotary news from Canada. You may have seen the latest edition (January 2020) with a beautiful photo of a mountain covered in snow.
If you flip to the inside front cover, you will find a list of names; these names are those of Canadian Rotarians who are part of the magazine’s Advisory Board. Their goal is to find Rotarians in Canadian clubs who will write articles for the magazine, and thus share some news with the whole country.
You will notice a familiar name there: Dean Rohrs, past RI Vice-President, who was at our district’s last conference in Clayton, NY. You may find another even more familiar name just above Dean’s: mine! As a French-speaking Rotarian living in the province of Quebec, my role is to find articles in French, since every issue of Rotary Canada contains a text in the French language.
I have only been part of the Advisory Board for a bit more than a year, but I truly enjoy looking for people to write something for the magazine. When I receive the text, I proofread it and make sure to get some photos to accompany it. I send the text a few months before it comes out in print.
If you know of anyone who is part of a French-speaking club, and/or someone who can write in French about a special event their club did, or perhaps a life-changing Rotary experience, etc., let me know!
