President's Thoughts

As we embrace the final months of the year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strength and resilience of our club. Our club continues to exemplify the values of Rotary—service, fellowship, diversity, and integrity. This month, we celebrate the impact our members are making both locally and globally, demonstrating the power of service above self.

Our club thrives because of the dedication and passion each member brings. Whether through virtual meetings or hands-on service projects, you have shown that Rotary is not confined by borders, and our collective efforts reach far and wide. As we move into the holiday season, let's continue to work together, explore new opportunities for service, and build even stronger connections across our diverse membership.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment and for embodying the spirit of Rotary every day. Together, we are making a lasting difference.

I'M A BIG FAT LIAR  🤥

Take a moment to ponder this ... the above was written, entirely, by ChatGPT.  I copied and pasted it 100%.  Not a letter was changed.  It still sounds impressive though .... right?

AI, including tools like ChatGPT, can be both fascinating and a bit frightening. While it offers amazing potential to help and innovate it raises concerns for me about the loss of human touch and thought.  Sure, I agree with the above, but it isn't me speaking or thinking. The idea of machines understanding and generating human-like responses bothers me, but is also curiously exciting.  I'm conflicted.

What do you think?  Where do you land on the issue? Talk it through with family and friends over the festive season.

Food for thought.
