A Rotary club in Connecticut, USA, used a $1,800 District Grant to help purchase supplies to make 10,000 meals and 1,000 essential item kits to distribute to needy families in their community. Clubs worldwide use these grants to support similar short-term humanitarian projects in their communities.
Every Rotary club has the opportunity to create positive change in their community with the help of The Rotary Foundation….one project at a time.
February is Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution Month.
Spring is inching closer and closer, but for now we're still in the thick of winter - at least for those of us that aren't in Cairo or Malta! - and all coping in our own ways. This weekend I made a Mediterranean feast of dishes I began to love during my time as a Rotary Youth Exchange student. It didn't change the temperature outside, but it was delicious and sentimental (no pictures, we dug in too quickly). What have you been up to in February? On February 23rd Rotary will be turning 117! Zones 28 & 32 will be ringing in the big day with its second online celebration, featuring some exciting guests (including President-Elect Jennifer Jones) sure to be an entertaining night.
