Grants – local & international

As we approach spring, now is the time to be considering your “backyard local” community projects that could benefit from the leveraging of the Rotary Foundation funds to which you have given so generously.  District matching funding is available on a 1:1 basis to help you get the most out of your projects.

If your club needs help getting qualified for grants, please contact Carol Cartier, our District Grants Chair.  The deadline for Simplified grants is April 30th.  If you need help with the grant applications, please contact the District Resource Network.

We have had some stellar projects over the years and look forward to many more. Now is the time to “spend” your Foundation funds! Don’t miss out!

I'm proposing a 50% Tarrif on fees for members not living in Cornwall (our registered address).  My thinking is that it will stimulate people to move to Cornwall.  I think its good for Cornwall ... and very fair.

April Fools!

Jokes aside ...

I hope the revised format of our club meeting was met positively by those who attended.  Please remember the upcoming board meeting will cover all detailed work required to run the club.   All members are welcome to join.

President Elect's

Spring is in the air!!

With this change of seasons we go from fields of white snow, gardens barren of colour, bare tree tops, and a dirtiness left behind from a long winter season. Suddenly with a few showers and efforts made by our neighbours, the area becomes clean, flowers start to bloom and the grassy fields suddenly start to become green again.

I know that it is spring as Presidents Elect Learning Seminar (PELS) is taking place this weekend!!!  What would you like to see for the next Rotary year?  Are there things that we can improve on from what has already taken place with our current and past presidents?  Looking forward to a great weekend at PELS and the future.

As you enjoy the change and renewal that spring brings, keep in mind that Rotary’s theme for April is Maternal and Child Health. Every day mothers risk their lives giving birth and millions of children die each year from treatable and preventable causes.

April showers, bring May flowers!

Have a great day,

Our gatherings have no more reports or other detailed minutia. That discussion is reserved for our Board meetings to which all are welcome.

Just fellowship and perhaps a great speaker or two.

.Log on and enjoy

The Montréal Mystery Festival, which had its inaugural event in May 2024, is already preparing for its second edition.

'Second Degree.' on May 23 and 24th, 2025, more than 20 authors of crime, mystery and thrillers from Quebec, the rest of Canada and beyond will meet with their readers for book signings and panels in French and English.

Last year, the festival was proud to announce the D7040 Passport Club as one its main sponsors, and we are thrilled the club has accepted to sponsor the event for 2025. If you're not attending our major fundraiser, the festival would love to have your help as a volunteer at the Grande Bibliothèque de Montréal! You can find more information and also donate personally on the website:

Thank you!
