This is my last report to you as Club President.
On Tuesday, June 30, at 5 pm Eastern
(11 pm in Sweden and Malta )
our Club meeting is the official changeover.
Here's the link to Tuesday's meeting

It's been a year of change.
With the onset of the global pandemic
it means our Club is seen as a model in
helping to convert clubs in our District
into virtual ones, meeting online.
In the coming year, we will continue this role.

Thank you to the entire Board for your help.
In particular, Secretary Terry.
With his help and guidance
it made an unusual year most enjoyable.

In the coming months, we'll be recording
and posting more Webinars.
They're a fun way to learn and to be entertained.
All Webinars are offered as a resource to all.
So they help to promote us, and Rotary, in general.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
Now let's help in-coming President Jacinthe
make 2020-2021 our Club's best year to date.

             Secretary's Thoughts

Hello to all my Fellow D7040 Passport Club Rotarians,

Welcome to our last Bulletin of the 2019-20 Rotary Year and on Tuesday this coming week we will be saying goodbye to Chris and welcoming Jacinthe as she starts her Presidency for 2020-21!

I have really enjoyed working with President Chris over the past year and I am also looking forward to spending time with Jacinthe and the other members of her team in the coming months.

I look forward to seeing most of our members at Tuesday's crossover meeting.

Once again, here's an important message from Rotary International:

A Message from
President-Elect
Jacinthe Paille

It is almost here: the new Rotary year! I hope many of you were able to participate in the Virtual Convention last week. I participated in several webinars and they were excellent! There will be July Breakout Sessions as well - more information on that in the next bulletin.

I am very excited about this Tuesday, June 30th for our last meeting of the 2019-20 Rotary year, to celebrate our success and kick off the new year! Please join President Chris and myself as we get ready to 'open opportunities' as Rotarians - as People of Action!

See you soon!

The Rotary Foundation Trustees and Rotary International Board of Directors have both unanimously approved adding a new area of focus: supporting the environment.

More than $18 million in Foundation global grant funding has been allocated to environment-related projects over the past five years. Creating a distinct area of focus to support the environment will give Rotary members even more ways to bring about positive change in the world and increase our impact.

Supporting the environment becomes Rotary's seventh area of focus, which are categories of service activities supported by global grants. It joins peacebuilding and conflict prevention; disease prevention and treatment; water, sanitation, and hygiene; maternal and child health; basic education and literacy; and community economic development.

Grant applications for projects will be accepted beginning on 1 July 2021. Gifts and commitments from Rotarians and others will be sought to provide global grant support for the new area of focus.

More information about this new cause will be announced soon.

Another Special Announcement from Ariane…

Worldwide Coverage stated in the policy wordings:

Recently, as the Canadian insurance representative, I received the following message from our broker.

We have secured policy wordings that include worldwide exposure for the Canadian members of Districts, where previous policies through both Northbridge & Intact Insurance were limiting in their coverage territory.  Suits will still need to be brought in Canada in order for the policy to respond, however this is still a big improvement, which to my knowledge the RI is still working on.
