In response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Rotary Foundation has made available the Disaster Response Fund as the primary avenue for contributions.
All Donations made online at Disaster Response Fund – My Rotary, Including the use of available district designated funds (DDF), need to be received by April 30, 2022. Grant applications to take advantage of the funds will be available now through June 30, 2022. This will be the primary avenue for Rotary Foundation Support, but Rotary and Rotaract Clubs are also encouraged to create their responses to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
In addition to the support provided through the Disaster Response Fund, The Rotary Foundation is coordinating with partners and regional leaders, exploring effective solutions to the increased humanitarian needs. You will find a comprehensive list of projects at this link, including contact details and websites.

I hope you've all been keeping well (and to those to whom this applies: also staying warm!) as we begin the slow transition to spring time.
Looking forward to some fellowship on Tuesday for all who are free to join!

From the President-Elect
It has been a week hasn't it! I'm sharing a photo of the big sunflower in my front window, facing the street, just as an indicator of where so many of our hearts are right now.
Expect to see the 2022 revised Bylaws in your inboxes this Tuesday (8 March). Have a look, and be prepared to vote at the 29 March Business Meeting.

We believe Bob Whyte and his wife are somewhere in the Middle East. On an extended holiday from which we hope he sends many photos to share.
Colin Lyle is busy settling into life in the Republic of Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of the African continent, east of Madagascar.
Did you know our District 7040 Governor-elect, Michel Wong Kee Song is originally from the the same island nation? Truly a small world!
Please check all updated information for the District Conference on the district website, www.rotary7040.com, information box top left corner.
Responding to
the Crisis in the Ukraine
In response to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Rotary Foundation has created an official channel for Rotary members around the world to contribute funds to support the relief efforts underway by Rotary districts and has designated its Disaster Response Fund as the main avenue for contributions.
Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund in support of Ukraine can be made here. All funds need to be received into the Disaster Response Fund by 30 April 2022 in order to qualify for use in support of the Ukrainian relief efforts.
Although the Disaster Response Fund will be the main avenue for Rotary Foundation support, Rotary and Rotaract clubs are also encouraged to create their own responses to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
