Most of you will have heard the news that an ambitious vaccination campaign is being undertaken in the Gaza region.
The challenge is to vaccinate 650,000 children in 3 days, against the spread of polio! A project such as this simply sets our resolve knowing that even under incredible circumstances we can work together for the common good.
Please continue to support all Polio Plus campaigns and be creative with your ideas for World Polio Day in October.
We will watch the middle East with interest and hope.
In an effort to bring deeper interaction and joy to our club meetings, we will be initiating a "Fun-Time" section at our club meetings. This could mean different things; for example breakout rooms, "Who am I?", "Funny Birthdays", "Icebreaker questions", or anything that makes us smile. I am totally open.
We are likely to start with simple 3 person breakout rooms and a few thought provoking questions to talk around. A future idea I really like is a "Poker Game" where each attending member gets a playing card chosen at random from a deck of cards during the meeting. Then, after 7 meetings, the member with the best poker hand gets a prize (a plaque, gift card, voucher, or perhaps $50 off their member fees for the following year?).
If you have any ideas or things you did at a previous club that stuck with you, please let me know. I will attach some ideas I found online to our club meeting agenda this week, but am totally open to suggestion. Help make us a fun club!
EXTRA-SPECIAL CLUB MEETING
Our club meeting on Tuesday will have Rotary Royalty in attendance, with our District Governor ,Teresa Whitmore, our Area Governor ,Terry Brouillet, and of course our very own District Governor Nominee, Barbara Fisk, in attendance.
Lets make a good showing for these district leaders and impress upon them the pride, the joy, and the drive to expand our touch as a club. If you have any questions for the district, there wont be a better time for years to come than our next meeting happening on Tuesday, September 24th.
Make an extra effort to attend, and lets show mettle as a club !
