Surveys

One of the goals that we have for 2018-19 is to do a classification survey. It will help us achieve another Rotary Citation. So far we have only 11 who have completed the survey.

Please complete the Occupation and Professional Expertise Survey online. You can complete in your own time and include your name in the first box. We've only had 6 responses so far. That's not enough to count as a goal achieved.

What does Rotary Expect from You?

Have you read what is in the Welcome picture above? "We are neighbours, community leaders, and global citizens uniting for the common good. With you, we can accomplish even more". But, how does Rotary accomplish all the things it does? People, many people are a part. Projects, grants, improving communities, trying to eliminate polio - the ideas are endless.

The one things that we have as Rotarians to help us is the Rotary Foundation. As a Rotarian, you are expected to make donations to the Rotary Foundation. The recommended goal is $100 per year, but any amount is welcomed.

Yesterday I was at an International Service/Foundation meeting. I was astounded to find out that only 17 of 67 club presidents in the district had contributed to the Foundation this year, only 25%. When I checked our club, I discovered that only 10 members have donated, or 32 %. That's better than the District average, but there's still a long way to go. To make it easy on yourself, read the next section.

The Rotary Foundation Weekly Messages Week 26

ROTARY DIRECT TESTIMONIAL FROM TERRY ZIEGLER “I received my last Gift Acknowledgement from Rotary International today recognizing the contributions I made on a credit card through Rotary Direct for the year. It's automatic, it's easy - no checks to mail, no stamp cost (going up soon), and the fact that Rotary has determined that it costs them less to process contributions from credit cards than checks due to the low rate they pay, the rebate they receive from Visa ($ millions currently going to PolioPlus) and the labor required to process large numbers of checks.”

ROTARY DIRECT IS SAFE, SECURE AND EASY…SIGN UP TODAY!  YOU SELECT AN AMOUNT AND FREQUENCY THAT'S CONVENIENT FOR YOU. GET STARTED.

December is the Month for...

There will be a special online District Council meeting on December 16, at 7:00 pm, to discuss the findings of DisCon 2018.

Documents/Website info to Check

As members you should be familiar with the Documents section of our website. You need to be signed in. There are minutes of our meetings, year-end financial reports, job descriptions for various Board positions, ClubRunner articles and so on.

To assist new members, but also for some of the previous Rotarians, I have added a New Member Program. To get there, you click on Admin and in the list on the right, go to New Member Program. Everyone's name is there with commitments that are assigned. You go in and edit the date that you completed something. If it's so far back that you don't remember, estimate.

Everyone will find a list of their commitments at the bottom of this bulletin. There is a section for District events (www.rotary7040.com) that you are signed up, and a section for your member activiies.
