Established in 1957, Paul Harris Fellow recognition is given to individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant. Recognition consists of a certificate and pin.
Paul Harris Fellows can also be given on behalf of someone through Foundation Recognition points or through a combination of points and outright donations. Since the creation of the Paul Harris Fellow, over 1.6 million people have become Paul Harris Fellows, including notable figures such as U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Russian President Boris Yeltsin, and polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk.
Use the Club Recognition Summary to see your club’s Paul Harris Fellows.
Are you ready to become a Paul Harris Fellow and join your fellow Rotarians in financially supporting The Rotary Foundation?
Did you make a donation to PolioPlus when you received your COVID vaccination? It's not too late.
Two PCR tests and two plane rides over two days later... I have finally returned to Canadian soil! A huge thank you to everyone who stepped up to help out while I was disconnected and thank you to all of you for being so patient with me. What a way to start off a Rotary year.
"No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it." – H.E. Luccock
I'll be catching up on sleep and emails now that I'm all settled back home and I look forward to continuing conversations about our club, its purpose, its goals, and its trajectory. Enjoy the last week of August and see you all on August 31st!
Secretary's Thoughts
Welcome Home, Maddie!
Now that our President is back in Canada, we can declare Jacinthe Paille the winner of the Where'sMaddie game. She correctly foretold her words for this bulletin and that Maddie will be at our next online meeting.
Till next week ...
District Youth Protection Policy
POLICY REMINDER / UPDATE
This policy may or may not affect you, but it is a good idea to be aware of it. In the Passport Club, our service to others may at times be in the form of service in our own disparate communities, separately or as part of the efforts of other Rotary Clubs. Please note the following information from District 7040, either because you may have direct contact with youth (under 18 years old) or vulnerable people, or because you are pleased to note that Rotary takes the safety of those we serve seriously.
Our Youth Protection Policy is on the district website and can be found at https://rotary7040.com/sitepage/youth-protection-policy. There is information in there about a rotary.org training module that you can use for training. Not every member of our club needs to go through the five-step process outlined in the Youth Protection Policy, but anyone who has direct contact with youth or vulnerable people does need to. Note too that Police checks for those members MUST be annual.
If your proposed activities might require this training/certification, please get in touch with President Maddie or me, as we need to provide District with some follow-up documentation to ensure that we are properly insured.
